Acknowledged, NormalPublic

Description

On Windows 11 AND the Auto HDR feature turned on the DayZ game will launch with just a black screen. The game loads and the main menu is audible. I even managed to use the keyboard to close the game via the menu without seeing it.

Hello GeneralLouis.
Do you use Nvidia or AMD card? And do you use more than one screen?

Geez

NVidia 1080ti, single 3840x1080 screen but running dayz in a window. (Samsung CHG90 monitor). If you need my whole system report let me know.

As described, I am able to consistently reproduce and successfully replicate the black screen with autoHDR enabled as described.

Nvidia Ti2080, latest Win 11 and latest NVIDIA drivers confirmed
One screen connected, model Alienware 55 OLED Gaming Monitor - AW5520QF

Replicated with native win 11 monitor driver and re-replicated with latest AW5520QF monitor drivers. the monitor drivers make no difference, the Monitor is properly recognized as HDR capable and plays other titles with autoHDR without issues

Confirmed that as described by GeneralLouis, game loads to world

  • with autohdr disabled game plays fine
  • with autoHDR enabled (a system wide setting), loads into the world with a black screen, menu is navigable, game is "working" just with a pitch black screen until the program is terminated or closed

Steps to reproduce are correct and validated

Validated that it does not help, to set a 60Hz or 120Hz screen refresh. Same black screen and the system and game are responsive, just with a black screen.
T161513 is unrelated to an unknown condition affecting Win 10 where setting the refresh to 60Hz could fix that problem, note that issue was reported as a system lockup which is very different than how T161513 manifests itsself

Thank you for the additional information provided.
Can you please check if this also occurs on some lower resolution, so we can be sure this does occur due to the HDR setting and not due to the 4K resolution?
Regards,
Geez

I am actually running it at the following:
WindowWidth=1760;
WindowHeight=1000;

Occurs and is reproducible at 1920 x 1080 and in 3840 x 2160 resolutions
