Accidentally assembling the mortor near a vehicle caused both to explode.
Assigned, NormalPublic

Description

I frequently transport mortors on a quad, thus am loading one mortor backpack onto the quad while carrying another on my character.

When loading attempting to get onto the drivers seat of a quad that has a mortor backpack loaded, the mouse action menu occasionally pops up ASSEMBLE MORTOR after I've clicked "Drivers Seat". The player then instantly assembles the mortor at the location of the vehicle causing both to explode.

Arma should IGNORE any mortor/bipods loaded into the cargo holds of vehicles to prevent this from happening. Having to take 10 seconds more to place them manually isn't worth the frustration of both exploding 2 hours into a mission.

  3. Find Mortor.
  4. Disassemble.
  5. Load into quad.

Additional Information

You really need to add a 3 second delay to the action menu while it's populating to prevent this and a host of other mis-selection problems. Especially dropping mines/explosives by accident.

A backpack thats inside a vehicles inventory shouldn't be considered for assembly. So the action should never pop up. I think I understand how this is happening.
There is probably code to check for whether the backpack is in a weapon holder, it shouldn't consider backpacks inside vehicles

In each of my repro tries the mortar spawns next to the quad, not causing it to explode.
But still shouldn't work with vehicle inventory

I've had this happen recently with a Marid as well. I'm not sure if it's because I'm using a Track IR or not. I think I was crouching to dodge enemy fire at the time.

That's not the problem of any device you're using. The problem was caused of you have a mortar/HMG pack in your inventory, and the other one is in the vehicle(MRAP/truck)'s inventory. Then, you scrolled the mouse to assemble the fixed turret. That action shouldn't pop up at that moment.Due to the magical PhysX,the vehicle and the turret will both explode.Sometimes the car will even fly away cause of the crash between them.
