We have discussed this and the devs have decided that we will not implement the splitting for vitamins. The argument was that the item is a bottle and you can not split a bottle.

You could always use the spare bottle you have left over from previously combining two bottles... oh wait, that magically disappears. Odd that doesn't work both ways
