Stone Oven no longer persistent in 1.12
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

In the 1.12 update the default lifetime for the Stone Oven fireplace was changed to 14400 (4 hours) which is actually half of what the regular fireplaces and indoor fireplaces have! This can surely not be intended?

Previously it was a week (604800) making it a useful base item that would get refreshed by the flagpole. Since the oven requires a significant number of large stones to build, there is no problem with huge numbers of them being built and littering the map, so it should be safe to change the lifetime back to 604800 without any noticeable effects on server performance.

Hello Beavis.
The OvenIndoor in types.xml affects only the indoor fireplaces in houses and does not affect the stone oven (upgraded version of fireplace).
We are however going to investigate the possible persistence issues with the stone oven fireplace.

Geez

Thank you Geez. I never realised there were two different classes for indoor fireplaces so I simply assumed the OvenIndoor was the stone oven and just had a funky classname. Now I realise the upgrade doesn't have a classname of its own so there is no way to customise its persistence in the economy files.

You learn something new every day!

You can close this ticket I think, I don't think there is a problem with the stone oven persistence - I thought the lifetime I had set on OvenIndoor was what fixed it for me... :P
