timeout on every server with oneplus 7t hotspot
Reviewed, NormalPublic

Description

tl;dr - a perfectly good hotspot connection that's useable on any game, gets a consistent timeout error upon trying to connect to any dayz server.

Hi there!
I tend to use only hotspot as an internet source. up until recently i used an old lg phone as a hotspot and it was perfectly playable on any dayz server.

Recently I've purchased a new oneplus 7t and as it seems it had a great hotspot.
But upon trying to connect to any dayz server id get a consistent timeout error.

No port is blocked, no firewall is activated, no ISP blockage.

Iv'e sniffed the faulty connection attempt packets alongside a good connection attempt from my lg

would love to know if said problem is known / fixable

thanks!

After several tests it seems that hotspots as a whole allow connection to servers.

Although the current spesific connection is blocked for some reason that might be connected to dayz.

Its worth checking the packets sniff

Hello asafdeh.
We suggest that you do a traceroute towards one of the servers IP to see if there is any packet loss or spikes in ping. Keep in mind that if your ping spikes over 300 ms, then you will most likely be disconnected from the server due to timeout error. Also, hotspot connection is not recommended due to how demanding DayZ can be.

hi geez, thanks for your suggestion!
it seems like some traceroute requests directed at remote servers return a timeout and some succeed sending the request, yet the timeout problem consist:
