This is the second time the game does this to me. I was wearing a jacket which had all of my food, literally. I changed my jacket pressing the y button and the jacket I was wearing disappeared with all my loot. Now I’m stranded on a military base without any kind of food and it will be difficult to find some by the area. This should be fixed as sooner as possible pls, it’s the worst bug ever

Steps To Reproduce
You should be wearing a patrol jacket with full loot, then find another jacket in the floor and equipped all the way pressing Y. This will make your jacket disappear with all the loot. It’s the second time this happens to me

This is a known bug but I can offer a solution for it to never happen again to you until fixed,
btw your jacket not disappearing, it is either on the roof of building or stuck in wall sometimes can be retrieved sometimes totally stuck inside something.
Never press Y to swap a clothing item, the range distance at which it drops is greater if you do this and more prone to interact with environment and end up in some random place rather then at your feet,
Always drop the clothing item at your feet holding X "on default controller scheme i don't know if new scheme same"
to drop clothing item you wearing first before putting on new clothing item, the range at which it drops will be directly below you,
The method I suggest make sure your back not too close to a wall as item can still clip inside wall sticking out a bit, or end up entirely in a wall
Alternatively put the clothing item you are trying to replace in your hands first before press Y on new clothing item.
