DayZ won't launch after stable 1.03
Need More Info, NormalPublic

Description

Hi,
I try to launch the game via steam and it gives me an error. I'm gonna send you screenshots at the end of the message. It says failed to launch and crashes itself. I can run DayZ without steam from game directory but game crashes to desktop when I try to join a server with the same error. It seems to be a Battleye error which blocks something in my DayZ folder. I've never had a problem like this before. I even played on DayZ experimental 1.03. Today I realized that I'm not the only one with this problem. I tried everything you can think of. Verifying, reinstalling game, deleting Battleye, deleting blocked files, updating my windows to the latest version and so on. Other games that are Battleye protected run fine on my computer like Arma 3 and R6S. I think it's a bug so decided to report it here.

I have exactly the same situation after 1.03 update.

What I have tried:

  • Verified game files
  • Deleted profile files via prompt when verifying files
  • Deleted all DayZ related files manually under /AppData and /Documents
  • Re-Installed DayZ
  • Re-Installed Steam
  • Visited https://www.battleye.com/support/faq/ and followed all possible steps from the list
  • Re-Installed DirectX
  • Checked files with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and other virus programs with 0 infection result
  • Ran System File checker Tool (DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth) as suggested in Battleye support page with 0 problems found
  • Ran system scan (sfc /scannow) also with 0 problems found
  • Checked Windows Event Viewer if anything weird show up there and found nothing

Every time I try to start the game without Launcher I get the same error (as mentioned in OP) saying Battleye blocked DayZ_BE.exe from loading.

If I try to launch it via Launcher the error popup says the same thing (as mentioned in OP) saying The specified procedure could not be found.

Sometime when starting the game without launcher it actually managed to launch properly but joining any official server crashes the game (it tries to load in to the server for few seconds and then closes to desktop) just to re-start again.

Logs always say the same thing:

!!! File "dz\Worlds\ChernarusPlus\data\scenes\intro.ChernarusPlus\init.c" does not exist...
!!! File "mpmissions\__cur_mp.chernarusplus\init.c" does not exist...
Termination successfully completed

Hello anonymous.gr and Deranged.
If you switch to the experimental version now, does the issue still occur?

Geez

Hello again,
I tried it just now and steam downloaded 10.4 MB for experimental. Sadly the problem still persists.

Hello again.
Can you please check if BattlEye is not blocked in your firewall and if your connection is without issues?

Geez

Finally got time to test out experimental and after deleting Battleye folder inside DayZ installation folder and letting steam reacquire those files via verify files I managed to connect to experimental server.

So all in all EXP works now but obviously stable does not.

Hello Geez,
I switched to Experimental and steam downloaded 93.2 MB. Game opened without any issues from steam and I joined an Experimental server at my first attempt without problems. :) Switched back to stable again and the problem persists on stable :(

Everything works fine now. Thank you.

I experienced the same thing, did all of the above methods, didn’t work. I’ve playing dayz for more than 100hrs on my current set up. It’s windows 10, and seems like only when I switch to stress test, the battleye will start to work.

Both stable and experimental don’t won’t work. I hate windows 10, back in my windows 8 non of this ever happened

Hello jom2000131.
Are you experiencing the same error as the reporters here? Or is it instead "Failed to install BattlEye service?" And are you using some kind of Virtual machine by any chance?

Geez
