Ingame Performance & Lag Issue
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hello, I need help fixing my DayZ performance, since it is not playable for me at this point.

After returning to DayZ for 1.0, there is one problem I have woth the game and that is huge Freezes/Frame Lags when moving my Camera too much. Small movements or running in one direction does not seem to impact the games performance. It's only when my Character starts turning. It is happening with no exception, so I am not able to react or change direction quickly. The lag duration is about 1-4 seconds.

Another thing I've noticed is BattlEye blocking the loading of two dll-files. I already looked those up and tried removing them, but that does not seem to be possible, since they're essential for my system.

The BattlEye message :

21:38:09: Starting BattlEye Service...
21:38:13: Launching game...
21:38:28: Note: File blocks can be ignored if they don't cause problems with the game.
21:38:28: [INFO] Blocked loading of file: "C:\Windows\System32\thooksv364.dll".
21:38:28: [INFO] Blocked loading of file: "C:\Windows\System32\winhafnt64.dll".

I tried reinstalling DayZ and BattlEye and also checked the files in Steam. I enabled the lowest Settings there are, yet did it not make a difference to the highest. The game is installed on an SSD aswell.

My Specs :

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
Intel Core i5 4460 @ 3.20GHz
16 GB RAM DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970

I'd be really thankful for a helpful response, because till this point I just hoped for it to be patched.

Hello soab and thank you for the report.
Have you tried to do a clean install of your video drivers? also, are your video drivers up to date?
Regards,
Geez

Hi Geez, yes I did do a clean install of the latest driver for my graphics card and for my mouse Logitech G402. I've also tried other mice and games and they're all working fine.
I'm also not starting DayZ in one of the beta versions. The stress test won't even let me start and experimental doesn't seem to make a difference.
I'd be glad to hear more suggestions though because I would love to play again.

Is the page file only on a SSD drive or do you have also HDD and the page file is there as well? When in game, open the Task Manager and in Performance tab see the value of "Free". If it is close to 0 and less than 250MB then your OS will be swapping pages constantly and if a page file is on HDD then relocate it to SSD to increase transfer rate between page file and RAM.

Those DLL's - OCular Agent from T.E.C. Solutions - I'd get rid of them. Some Chinese vendor of a device not well known in Google... Are you absolutely sure you need those files?

Alright, after hours of trying to force the uninstall of those drivers I still got them on my PC. Seems to be another problem for me though and not DayZ, because I can say that it works fine now after lowering the polling rate in the Logitech Gaming Software for my mouse from 1000 (default) to 125. Even though most people on the internet claimed that other errors would occur, it solved the problem completely for me.

Thanks for the friendly help. c:

Geez claimed this task.

Hello soab and thank you for the update.
In that case I am going to close this ticket as Resolved, but feel free to submit another one in case you run into any issues with the game in the future.
