Workbench Animation Editor Issues/bugs
Assigned, NormalPublic

Description

Hey, so with next-to-no knowledge on this tool, i've attempted to learn how to create animations, but came into a few issues:

  1. When trying to create a new group, it crashes with a status access violation.
  2. When closing dialogs, it says "Error openning workspace" (opening is also spelt incorrectly!)
  3. You can't edit any animations, or even create any new ones. There is nothing pointing us (modders) in the correct way in terms of creating new animations! I have made a few weapons, which require custom animations and I am unable to, which means the mod is going to be delayed until we either get some pointing in the right direction, or until we get some documentation.

Steps To Reproduce
  1. Create a new; anim template, anim instance, graph, event table and sync table (use one of the default preview models!), click 'group' under anim sets, it asks you for a name, once you set it, it crashes!
  1. Open up a dialog (namely workspace > open), and just press the X on the top right
  1. Use the animations provided to us in the DZ\Anims folder in Workbench, and click "edit", it says no TXA file found (i assume this is probably so the animations don't get stolen, but with everything else its fine. Animations need to be able to be opened by us so we can learn and produce mods from them!)
Additional Information

I don't mean to sound annoying/needy, but we honestly do need some pointing in the right direction in terms of animations. We've had multiple different people try, and the furthest we've gotten is being able to open/play current animations. A lot of us have tried creating out own animations within this editor, but with no help, documentation or anything it's proving to be very hard.

I know documentation is in the works, but specifically for animations, we honestly can't wait. It's becoming more, and more difficult for weapon creators to release mods, as custom animations (reload animations, idol animations, etc) are needed to make the mod look good. In some cases, weapons don't even fit in the hands correctly due to the base we're inheriting just not being sufficient enough.

I'd imagine it'd be Tom reading this, so if you are able to give us a point in the right direction, please message me on discord with literally anything (doesn't even have to be useful, just that you acknowledge that this is a big issue for us!), my discord is Thurston#3469 - alternatively, you can openly post in in the #animation section on the modders discord, which I know you're in!

This isn't intended to be a shit-talk or anything, it's just more expressing my concerns as a modder, and i'm not the only person who wants/needs this, many people who are creating guns are holding off and waiting, but no one will see it as an issue unless it is raised as such. You guys have done wonderful work so far, and i hope you can keep it up! I'm looking forward to 1.0s release, but unfortunately at this rate it won't be accommodated with many, unique/custom mods (weapon based, mainly!)

Hello @Geez! Any information on how to create custom animations for DayZ?
