I used the F5 (Laying Down Pose) with a mosin nagant in my hand and when I got up from the pose it disappeared. I tested this again with my pistol and combat knife and both times they disappeared.

Hello joemcmama and thank you for the report.
The F5 key should produce a surrender gesture instead of lie down. If you verify the game data through Steam and remove the contents of your C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\DayZ folder (the folder is hidden by default so you will have to enable hidden files and folders in Windows in case you haven't yet), does your character still lie down when pressing F5? As for the item disappearance. Has the issue occurred on a community server or official server? And can you possibly provide us with the IP of the server?

I've had the same issue, only that my gun wasn't disappearing. Removing the contents of your C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\DayZ fixed it for me.
