Official Campaign Chapter "Adapt" Gear Persistency Issue
New, NormalPublic

Description

At the second "Gori" base(after "Supply Network" mission), going onto patrol will result in loss of ammo from ammo crate at base even with 0 expenditure. The type of ammo lost seem to match the default weapons your 3 man team(should you start mission in the offroad) bring to the mission

In my experience, going out onto patrol and return to base immediately will result in loss of:
30rnd 5.56x45 magazine
20rnd 7.62x51 magazine
200rnd 6.5mm belt
RPG-42 HEAT rocket

I didn't move onto the 3rd base before the final mission but it is not inconceivable that the same issue could occur for patrol from there as well.

Hi, Wulf. First of all thanks for making the effort to investigate my issue.

If by "loadout" you mean what player carry on person then I can't really say how it may be related. I've tried going onto patrol with a variety of loadouts including completely naked and return immediately yet ammo is still deducted(though not necessarily always the amount I listed prior) from my ammo storage at base. By "Gear Pool Ammo" I meant your ammo crate at base, in case I wasn't clear. I've also since discovered that ammo is deducted from your storage regardless of whether you start mission with 4 man team, alone on quadbike or on foot.

I might also failed to mention that you need to "Revert" your campaign progress to the point(in my case right after "Supply Network" mission as I proceeded no further) instead of "Replay". If there's anything else you're not 100% certain about please let me know.

Aaah. Now I understand. The armory is shared by the AI with the player. Meaning they also take their equipment from the armory. So whenever you go on a mission they also take ammo and guns so as to simulate how it would work in real life. Even if you are going solo that doesn't mean that other parts of the resistance are being idle they go on their own mission and take ammo and equipment as well.

Wulf is this some sort of documented change? It was not like this some months(or years?) ago in my earlier playthroughs, was the rationale explained somewhere? In the past the consumption of your 3 men team is properly accounted for, the bullets they fired were properly deducted but that's the extent of it. Right now up to a dozen 7.62x51 magazine lost with zero actual expenditure every time you leave base is pretty impossible to replace. Adding all the other ammo type lost I think it's impossible to make up for the random deduction even with a full truck load home. If intended I'd consider this a rather peculiar decision.

Still I doubt it is the case as at the first base where you don't have access to a team your arsenal change seems to be purely based on the difference between the equipment on you in the mission beginning and end. I'd still strongly suspect it is some oversight with the difference calculation script during a certain patch. That is it no longer deduct your team's starting loadout at the mission beginning from your base return inventory correctly.

If you have a few minutes use the campaign cheat code to unlock "Gori" base, screenshot your ammobox inventory and go on a patrol and return immediately to check the ammo again. That's going to make thing clearer than my words.
