Debug Console no longer appears in single player missions
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Debug console is no longer available in exported single player scenarios.

Settting enableDebugConsole to 1 or 2 in description.ext has no effect as debug does not appear when mission is paused.

Setting DebugConsole via editor attributes/general/states to "available for host or logged admin" or "available to everyone" has no effect.

Not A Bug
Operating System
Windows 10 x64
Operating System Version
Steps To Reproduce
  1. Place a unit down in eden editor.
  2. Save mission.
  3. In mission folder, create a description.ext file and add enableDebugConsole = 1; (save and exit)
  4. Save mission then export to single player missions.
  5. Start saved mission, try to access debug console.
Additional Information

As mention in description, using eden editor attributes/general/states produces the same result.

Previous sp missions that I have created used the debug console and now, as expected, no longer have access.

Thanks Wulf,

Looking forward to a fix should you also find the above issue to be correct.

After some discussion regarding this issue we have come to the conclusion that this was a bug in the game. The Debug console can be enabled in Multiplayer if certain criteria are met, however it should not be available in singleplayer scenarios.

You can find on our wiki where you can use the debug console and indeed singleplayer is not there. So I am afraid that this is by design.
