I held a lit road flare in my hand and pressed F2 (hand waving gesture). The flare disappeared from my hand during the gesture animation. Upon exiting the gesture (by pressing F2 again), the flare was back in my hand. Now I couldn't access the inventory, open/close doors or pick up objects.
After entering and exiting the F1 gesture (i.e., pressing F1 twice), I could open my inventory and interact again.
Version 0.63.146683 offline.
I've tried to reproduce it a couple of times since, but haven't experienced the issue again.

Good point! I must have.
Just tried it again and pressed F12 during the F2 gesture. The issue reappears and I cannot access my inventory or interact with objects. So it seems to be the F12 during the gesture that causes it.
