Placed two wolf pelts, one bag of lime, and nothing else in a barrel. Waited 4-5 minutes, came back and watched pelts sequentially disappear, along with lime bag. I logged out and back in, checked again to find nothing, placed first aid kit in slot where lime had been, and then picked up barrel and logged out in frustration.

I attempted to tan cow pelts earlier, and had similar results.
