Unsung mod: crash after 1.68 update
Acknowledged, NormalPublic

Description

From eggbeast:

we are getting server crashes on unsung mod. the mod and mission is the same, steam updated on server and clients
then as soon as the server was updated, and steam validated, no issues, we have been crashing every 1-2 hours all weekend.
We have noticed that when someone crashes a plane or heli and creates the crater field models, we are getting major frame drops - EVERY PLAYER experiences it across the map. when a player approaches the crater models, they get strong freezes, that last a few seconds, made worse when zooming in facing the craters.

my feeling is that these models are causing a major accumulating memory leak.

rpt has this which we've not seen before:
16:41:48 NetServer: users.get failed when sending to 1045375478
16:41:48 Message not sent - error 0, message ID = ffffffff, to 1045375478 (Elvis)

and these - at the end of EVERY RPT file, it has the same error: related to accessing protected memory. i.e. the server has developed a memory leak since the 64 bit update.

Attached are the server config, mission and more crash reports, using a more recent performance/profiling binary build.

The crashes were seen with build v08.

crash relate to "Old Arma2 Car simulation" used
please note that This simulation is not maintained for many many years and it might be very buggy

@Dwarden, I checked the Unsung configs and there is no simulation = car there, only carX. However, the planes are still rigged as airplane instead of airplaneX. Might that be the core reason?

We did some testing over the long weekend and found that the 32bit 1.68 stable server runs without crash (for roughly 20 hours) on a second test system. On this test system I could get crashes within 30 minutes with the 64bit server version, 1.68 stable.

The primary Unsung server crashed with the v13 binaries continuously over the weekend.

The v14 profiling server also crashed after some 40 minutes, arma3server_x64_profiling_168_141269_v14.exe

Once the file upload works again, I'll submit the crash dump.
