MBT-52 Kuma elevation angles
New, NormalPublic

Description

since patch 1.58 when the elevation angles for the mBT-52 Kuma were tweaked (clipping of main cannon over the engine deck) the kuma now has only -5° of gun depression over the front and sides.

However, the MBT revolution, which the Kuma is based off, has -9° of gun depression over the front and sides for the main cannon.

To keep the MBT-52 true to it's real life counterpart, the elevation angles of the main cannon should be tweaked to -9°/+20° over the front and sides of the vehicle.
And the elevation for the rear over the engine deck should be 0° as it still clips with some parts of the back of the vehicle

Steps To Reproduce

Get in the gunner seat of the MBT-52 Kuma and point the gun down when on perfectly flat terrain (virtual arsenal) notice how the gun depression is only -5° over the front and sides of the vehicle.
Turn the turret around and notice the cannon clipping with some parts of the "cage armour" to the rear.

So, is this ever going to get acknowledged?
:/

Relax, oftentimes there's no response the problem has been solved. (Look patch notes at how many of these are fixed before ever commented.

Unfortunately it hasn't been fixed yet and I'm afraid they're not going to until they release the tanks dlc...:/

{F71735}So, i did some file digging and it appears the gun depression is actually correct in the files but somehow in game it's bugged...

After doing some more research it appears that minimum elevation of the cannon is directly linked to the turret and is uniform.
This means that by changing the cannon so it wouldn't clip into the back anymore in patch 1.58 also changed it for the elevation over the front of the vehicle.
This is ofcourse incorrect.

However, in order to fix both issues (model clipping and innacurate elevation) you would need to have extra classes: one for the "maximum" minimum elevation (-9°)
and one for the "minimum" minimum elevation (0°).
There should also be a transition between the two.

It has also been brought to my attention that the slammers, both variants, should have -7° over the frontal arc of the vehicle while in game it's -5°

I hope I have provided enough information.

That's great! Thanks :D
I.ll test it out ASAP.

This is a great improvement, though is there a particular reason why the gun depression over the sides is less than the front?
AFAIK, gun depression should be the same over the frontal 180° arc of the vehicle, and only gets worse when the gun has to"get over" the engine deck.

Could you clarify this?
Thanks! :)
