Description

At Novy Sobor on DayZ US Southcentral 0-6 (Experimental/Unstable) I was fooling around with a Lead pipe to see how powerful it was versus infected. After killing a second infected I suddenly got attacked by an invisible infected.

I got hit by it and could hear aggro sounds (possibly coming from the dead body). A known workaround is "double tapping" the body of recently killed infected, which indeed fixed the issue.

In the Additional information section I included a video of my fight versus that infected and the issue itself and how I fixed it.

I think the cause is perhaps desync or some form of miscommunication between client and server. I think the client thinks that the infected is dead while the server still sees it as alive.

I might reproduce it multiple times with less powerful weapons. Usually I use my Firefighter axe which is a two to three hit kill and I believe I never encountered this issue with that weapon.

My guess is that it has to do something with damage and/or desync or miscommunication between client and server.

I had a run in with an invisible infected on a the most current stable branch servers up near Tisy.

Same exact issue here multiple times while playing on the Experimental build that was pushed to Stable today. Like you said, dealing another blow to the infected's corpse is the workaround.

Oddly enough, this was the build that was supposed to help resolve the issue, but I had never experienced it until last night on Experimental.
