Arma 3 Launcher redownloading workshop mods over and over again
Assigned, NormalPublic

Description

Heya!
My Arma 3 Launcher went weird a couple of days earlier when it decided to download 33.3gb of workshop mods again.
It was working fine before this but now, I could not get the mods to load in game.
I let it redownload but when it finished today, it went back to 0mb/33.3gb downloaded.
I have checked the \workshop\content\107410 and all my subscribed mods from the workshop are there even RHS (which was recently added).
I have exported my subscribed modlist just in case.
Any fixes? Any thoughts? Might be a serious bug where players can't use workshop mods.

This folder - \ workshop \ content \ 107410 - cache MOD
This folder - \ Steam \ SteamApps \ common \ Arma 3 \ Workshop -! Labels are placed on the MOD to arma3laucher.
Vita changed anything in this folder?
As you can see, it has a warning about the risk - "DO_NOT_CHANGE_FILES_IN_THESE_FOLDERS!".
Try the following procedure:

  • Start arma3laucher
  • Press - "Restore default" - "OK"

  • Go to the section in laucher "Mod"
  • Open events, try to repair the "MOD"

If you do not help, you need to download all the broken again MOD

  • Start arma3laucher
  • Go to the section in laucher "Mod"
  • Open a broken Mod
  • Open the page "the Mod" - "1". Unsubscribe from Mod, do not close the page.
  • The launcher remove the Mod - the number "2".
  • On the page, subscribe to the Mod Mod.

Hello,
unfortunately Arma 3 Launcher no longer have control over download process, it's all controlled by Steam client.

You might try to either verify the game cache, which checks the game but it also checks the files for mods from Steam Workshop: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

Also in Steam settings, in the Downloads section, at the bottom of the page is a button to clear download cache:

If you're tech savvy user, you can go through Steam logs. They might contain a clue what is wrong with it. The logs are stored in a folder in Steam installation, by default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\logs. The logs you would be interested in would be workshop_log.txt, content_log.txt and cloud_log.txt.

I didn't change anything in those folders, i just took a peek to see if the mods are still there, checked properties and it had 40gb+ in it.

I unsubscribed from all the mods then subscribed again but it did not work.

http://pastebin.com/TyG2UTkx - content_log.txt
http://pastebin.com/U3svBGEQ- cloud_log.txt

verifying game cache right now

Thanks for the quick replies btw!

Perhaps, BI could ask something to Steam... I can't imagine there is no clever link between BI and Steam teams... as far as Steam seems mandatory to run Arma....
