Sudden FPS Drop
Acknowledged, NormalPublic

Description

When running in a area, I've experienced sudden FPS drops (0-10 FPS) and it stays that way until I've backed out the area where I first got the FPS drop. It seems that it completely freezes the game for a split second, then 10 FPS then freeze and so on.

Here's a clip of the occurrence, however this clip is not from me, and my frame-rate seems to be lower than what you see in this video and I also have audio "cuts" during that period:
**Video**

When I get into this scenario it usually takes about 30-60 seconds before I've been able to fully stop my character and then move backwards again (to get out of the "zone")

Extra Info:

  • I play the 64bit version of DayZ, so I know it happens on 64bit (I've heard people playing on 32bit having the same issue I can't confirm this though)
  • It has occurred in the current stable patch '0.61.137076' but it has also been occurring on earlier versions of the stable version of '0.61'

It happens in random areas at random times. The only noticeable thing about the scenario is that in order to get back to normal frame-rate you need to move away from the area where it first started occurring.

Additional Information

It's not area specific, in the way that it only happens at for example: NWAF. I've had it happen West of Krasnostav, in the middle of nowhere etc.. But it does seems to be area specific in the way that when it happens it's like a "bubble" around you that you have to get out of in order to regain FPS. When you've gotten out of the "bubble", it usually works fine running through the same area again, with no loss in frame-rate.

Geez you know how hard that is? when it comes around it happens at the fastest second one can think of. I have had this stutter 0-10fps to 150fps back up.

I just came here to report this very problem, i was being chased down by an infected, it was raining hard.. it started to preload a whole shit load of info, either the rain, the server farted or it was simply me. Well i took a crap load of hits from the infected all at once, and heard my guy scream, killed the infected and went to bandage up. I wish i had the .61 menu on stable to tell you exactly what i lost in heath and blood all in a matter of 1-2 seconds on my screen, to what it was in one big infected hit on me.

I have had this little blurp since before time, it comes and goes when it wants and can last for as long as 2 seconds then kicks right back into normal play.

Almost like it feels its dumping a shit load of memory, all at once then floods your cpu or whatever, and fps goes to 0-3 or so then back up.

Is there a small tool i can see just CPU %? on dayz while in game on an overlay tool?

Edit = Found the tool on my keyboard logitech g510s has cpu-ram uses.

It happens still on experimental once in awhile.

Network to hive - lag bubble? i could not tell you geez.

OK CPU did not go up over 18% use. I checked it. Ram however sky rocketted to almost 100%

What i did was fire a shot into the head of infected, ran out had about 6 infected chasing me and all of a sudden i get warped back while the freeze happened. The infected all hit me together.

If only i had a video to explain this, but it is still very true.
