64-bit Version causes Windows 10 to display error due to low memory
New, NormalPublic

Description

As per title, receiving the Windows low memory notification requesting to shut down Arma 3 using the new 64-bit development build. When this occurs however task manager is only showing 45% use on my system which has 16GB RAM. Forcing maximum use using the maxmem option doesn't resolve the problem either.

Has also caused a couple of hard system crashes where the entire computer black screens and needs a hard reboot. Nothing was listed in Windows event viewer as the cause or error for the hard reboot problem.

Steam cache was verified successfully and windows system file integrity did not find any problems.

The only way to resolve it was to revert to the stable branch on steam.

@Armamem, could you prepare and upload a troubleshooting report for the developers to review?

For issues regarding Arma 3 you can file a troubleshooting report, also via an action available in the option menu in the upper right corner (gear icon)

You can use a free file sharing service such as Dropbox if there are issues uploading to the feedback tracker.

Troubleshooting report: https://www.dropbox.com/s/tckxmscqqkrl11x/ArmaReport_Log_20161217T080925.zip

I ran the game, loaded into a single player scenario where it promptly crashed then I generated this report using the cog in the launcher. No mods were loaded (but some were installed)

I noticed on the forums someone is possibly having a similar issue to me. I am using the default memory allocator (not specified any) however.

Do you have Pagefile active?

Do you have Pagefile active?

I do not, due to never filling up my available RAM. ARMA3 64-bit shows as using only about 3.7GB commit when running a mission with 9GB RAM total free.

Re-enabling the pagefile set to let Windows manage does not resolve the issue however, still receive the warning shortly after it loads in.

As a small hint the pagefile is a buffer. Windows shows that message when about 50 %of the available memory (physic and pagefile )

That's nice, except the problems still occur with it enabled.

Hello! I confirm it. Arma uses all my phys and pagefile memory, memsize flag does nothing.
