Did you launch the 64 bit exe in steam by right clicking on Dayz and clicking Play DayZ x64?

My overlay works fine as of yesterday (12/14)

I always launch my games from the steam app. When I do that it asks me which to choose, normal or x64. I choose x64. Game runs fine, but won't allow me to bring in my steam overlay once in game. I'll have to alt tab and out.

Can you try it via my method and see if it works that way? I assume when you launch dayz a popup asks you which version to play?

Ok so I right clicked on the game and ran as x64 and it still won't let me bring up steam overlay. Also my buttons to bring that up are left shit + Q

try to remap the shortcut , i use shift+-(numpad), in setting steam.

Done that many times. Still won't.

Ok soooo...I can actually go into the steam folder and open the dayz_x64 file manually and that works, but I can't launch it from steam and have overlay work that way.

Any other ideas, devs?

Hello again.
We have found out that the issue is possibly caused by third party programs such as FRAPS due to incompatibility. If you are running FRAPS or any similar programs, can you try to turn them off and let us know if the issue persists still?

Only thing I am running is MSI afterburner and Rivatuner....Also if I open the 64.exe from the folder I can get the steam overlay to work. So for now I just added a shirtcut to my taskbar. Still something that should be looked into and fixed.

Hello L-ight.
Does the issue also occur when you turn off the afterburner and rivatuner? As for the opening the exe from the folder, the exe from the folder currently launches the 32bit exe and the issue should be fixed in one of the upcoming updates.

Geez

Hello again L-ight.
Can you try the following steps and let us know if this has resolved the issue for you?

  • open the global file located in C:\Program Files (x86)\RivaTuner Statistics Server\ProfileTemplates
  • search for InjectionDelayTriggers = IGO64.dll
  • once found, add the following below the delaytriggers line: GameOverlayRenderer64.dll
  • exit / re-open msi afterburner

Geez

I don't have that file in there.

Hello L-ight.
Do you mean that the global file is not in the C:\Program Files (x86)\RivaTuner Statistics Server\ProfileTemplates folder or that the folder is not present there at all? (the file itself should be called global). Also do you have hidden folders and files enabled in your Windows?

Geez
