Description

After update 1.64 the voice of the player character, is too quiet! sometimes the first part of the sentence sounds quiet, but continued normally. Also the voices of the enemy infantry have distortion. It sounds creaked like an overloaded audio frequency.

I Changed my settings from 7.1 dynamic to stereo settings, like it became better a bit, but only for voice of player.
The voices of the enemies, sound sounds is still bad (distorted).

The voice of player still isn't good. When it the player's character to say, the first part of the proposal, which he says sounds a bit quieter and as if in the left headphone, and the second part of the sentence already sounds louder, but already in the right headphone. At the same time, the voices of the my subordinates, still have a somewhat larger volume, than the voice of the player.

  1. Open editor
  2. Place in the map any infantry squad, with player-commander

Are you using 5.1 headset?

Before, I did not ask this question. Now, I went to audio settings of my PC.
Here written - I have a currently 7.1 dynamic.
Before the update 1.64. the voice of the character sounded wonderful. Now it is barely distinguishable, while the subordinate voices sound the same as before

This problem only my pain in the ass? No one else is suffering?
How to fix it finally?

Also, I noticed that the voices of the enemies when near them, now (after 1.64) the sound is distorted. You probably BIS wanted to create the effect of the sound of the radio, but broke something else, in the voice of the player.

Stable or Dev? Some sound fixes were made recently that should appear in the new Dev and of course later in Main branch. Might be worth checking out the Dev branch to see whether it got better (after next Dev update).

Stable or Dev?

I use only stable version

Might be worth checking out the Dev branch to see whether it got better (after next Dev update).

Thanks, But I can't use dev, for some reasons.
Most of all, I want to understand this bug received only I, or somebody still has it also.

@razazel / Mickeymen

Hi chaps, I believe this issue is related to https://feedback.bistudio.com/T120414.

At present, side channel conversations are very quiet (due to the positional radio bug). Indeed, often, they only play through one ear piece, as the directional sound is acting up. To confirm, @Mickymen, have you noticed this issue when characters are speaking directly (text in white)? Or only over the radio? Even if it's the player speaking, to another on the radio channel?

Hi @ScottAlsworth, I'm not sure I understood you correctly. I do not understand what it means - (text in white)

Perhaps you mean the voice of player without the radio. I checked it out. There is no difference. With radio ot without this - same effect.

However, when I put the my radio on the ground, I noticed an additional problem. The my squad did not answer any of my commands. For example after "Report status" command, my subordinates are did not answer me.
Before the update 1.64, I did not notice this.
The player must hear subordinates, always even when he does not have the radio, if subordinates are close.

Yes, I think without a radio, the player cannot communicate at all - though I think that this might be intentional.

By 'text in white', I mean any conversations that are made via the 'direct' channel, as opposed to the 'side' channel (with text subtitles in blue). One way to check this is at the very beginning of the East Wind campaign. The two chaps talking by the whiteboard where the helicopter lands - they are communicating via the 'direct' channel. If their speech is too quiet, it would point towards a larger problem. If not, but the speech later in the mission, via the 'side' channel is persistently quiet, then I think it's to do with the radio positioning being out of kilter :)

Hope that made a bit of sense; it's entirely possible there are two separate issues!

Could you check out latest Development branch? There were some fixes applied to the radio channels and speech sounds, should be better there (and of course later in stable/main branch).

Hi, I can't use dev because I have some mods.
(problem appear without mods also)
anyway I will expect fixes in 1.66, thanks for answer
