Group spoken communication sound is severely distorted over distance

Description

When a group moves in stealth or danger mode, the AI units call out "Go", "I'm covering", "cover me", etc, etc. They do this without using radios.

OBS:
If the speaker is distant from the player/camera, the audio becomes distorted. The further the speaker, the more distortion.
Radio based communication and other sound effects are not affected.

EXP:
If the speaker is distant from the player/camera, the audio should become quieter. There should be no distortion.

Steps To Reproduce
  1. Open virtual reality terrain in mission editor.
  2. Place a Rifle Squad (player becomes leader).
  3. Preview mission.
  4. Pause game to access debug console.
  5. Execute "enableEnvironment false" to disable humming sound.
  6. Resume mission.
  7. Order group to change to stealth or danger mode.
  8. Move away from your group (run, or alt-LMB click on map to teleport).
  9. Listen to your subordinates shouting.

This issue has been introduced some time after stable build 1.62.
