I think there're several mistakes about the Chinese in Xi'an's cockpit panel.
- "垂直起降" (vertical take-off and landing): Except the cockpit panel is made in Japanese or some other places, they should show the glyph in Mainland China standard. For "直", this is actually a Japanese kanji, and the Han character is different as is shown in Wiktionary. Same problem is also for "垂" and "降", see this and this, though not very obvious.
- "鼻" (nose): Should be "机头" (nose of airplane) instead.
- Tachometer: I think PLA normally use Arabic numerals... So these numbers should better be "20" "40" ... "120" instead of "二十" "四十" ... "一百二十".
- Yaw meter: Should better be "航向" (direction of flight) instead of "方向" (direction)
- Pitch meter: Should be "俯仰" (pitch) instead of "角" (angle)
- Roll meter: Should be "滚转" (roll) instead of "卷" (yeah, roll, but this is for something like scroll)
- Compass: As far as I know PLA doesn't use Earthly Branches to notate directions... They have been basically obsoleted for this usage. Also, I don't know if the Heavenly Stems plus Bagua are used to notate directions in any normal circumstance. This compass is not completely unacceptable as a design, but is rather strange I think.
- And, "北西" should be "西北", "南西" should be "西南", "北东" should be "东北", and "南东" should be "东南"
- Fuel meter: If this plane is not burning gasoline (汽油), "燃油" (fuel) or "油量" (amount of fuel) is better.
- Radio: All should use Mainland China glyph, see this, this and this. And, "频" means frequency (频率) and "波" means wavelength (波长) so "中波" should better be "中频" (middle frequency) to match the above and below.
- The two round meter below: Should be "液压" (hydraulic pressure) instead of "水力学" (hydraulics). "安培" should be "安" instead as the volt "伏" is an abbreviation. And still, the glyph of "直" should be changed.
