I've placed barrels under the branches of pine trees twice now on different servers and the barrel "disappears" in the sense that I can still see it but it no longer shows up in the "vicinity" of my character under the user interface. Therefore I can't interact with it even though it's physically still there This never happened on .58 stable

If you are using the New Interface, this is not an issue. have thoroughly tested it with a few different people on separate occasions. items put into a barrel by a person in New UI, cannot be removed by person using Old UI.

I've also had this issue. It looks as if the barrel floats above the ground. Also, not sure whether or not this is a thing, but I've heard that the barrel will disappear if it is in fact floating.

The issue you're describing is not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about placing an empty barrel under a pine tree and it no longer appears in the "vicinity" in the New UI. I also tested this by placing a barrel in an open space, on a road, and it does appear in the UI.
