When you respawn, after you die, if you're are quick enough to hit tab, you can access your last characters inventory. From there the player can remove the gear from the corspe into the players hand (handy only, no drag and drop) (right click > take into hands).

Steps To Reproduce
get killed with something you can take into your hands in your pocket or on your head (burlap sack).
On Respawn, instantly press tab
right click item, take into hands.
Press G to throw items and keep the inventory open
