Alt+Tab causing crash when I resume DayZ, other times as well
Assigned, WishlistPublic

Description

Getting an error that says: The instruction at 0x111d3310 referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be read. Looks like a null pointer in hexadecimal to me. This happens sometimes when I'm on a loading screen or trying to join a server. Happened 3 times today without Alt+Tabbing, and once more when I was trying to reproduce it by Alt+Tabbing. I think it's a setting somewhere with my computer, because none of my clan-mates have this issue. I have no advanced launch options for DayZ either, and have verified my game data on more than one occasion with no change. This has been happening to me since 0.56 and happened all through Exp 0.57 and Stable. {F32082} {F32083}

Alt+Tab, upon resume DayZ will crash, but not EVERY time. Most of the time it does crash though.

Hello K_cutt08.
Are you using any launch parameters by any chance?

Geez

No, I have no additional launch parameters at the moment. I will double check when I'm home from work, but I did have some at one time and removed them with no change. I also have tried -winxp before, and that messed up a lot of my settings, but did not seem to fix the issue. Sorry about the duplicate, must have done that when I added tags. This page didn't have the files: Fixed now.

Hello K_cutt08.
We have checked the attached crash dumps, but it appears that the logs are from beginning of June(Different version than actual one). Could you delete contents of your C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\DayZ and provide us with another set of crash dumps once you encounter the issue again?

Geez

Added a new file, but this happened when I was joining an experimental server today.

I'm now getting that memory error every time I try to join an experimental server. But from what I understand, there is an issue with this already.

I changed my setting for video memory allocation down from 2048 to 1024. That allowed me to connect to the experimental server without crashing with the same error. I still however get the memory reference error when I alt+tab or even when I close the game and exit.

I discovered that the alt+tab crashing seems to be related to teamspeak 3 overlay trying to come back after having left the game. The only reason I can figure this is related is because I have alt+tabbed several times just a few minutes ago without being connected to teamspeak and not using the overlay program. I'd still like to know if there's a fix for this because DayZ is the only game I have this issue with that I have found.

Hello K_cutt08.
It is possible that the TS3 overlay is conflicting with BattlEye. Try writing to http://www.battleye.com/support and report back to me whether the issue can be fixed on BE's side or not.
