Urgent!: Liquid system is broken, messes with stomach. Drinking from Ponds and Wells, aswell as refilable containers...
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Urgent: Liquid system is not properly working. Drinking from Ponds and Wells, aswell as refilable containers causes very little hydration but a huge chunk of the stomach capacity is taken. This leads to players being unable to be energized/hydrated because they can not eat properly or get hydrated by the sources I stated.

This problem escalates the longer the character lives.

The only non-bugged hydration sources are now Soda cans and Foodcans aswell as vegetables

Drink from a well/pond. Compare the hydration gained in relation to stomach space used to drinking a can of soda.

Additional Information

This bug is still present in the current exp branch.
I would like to stress the importance of this. My crew almost died due to this, though frequently drinking from wells etc, we almost died of dehydration before we figured out what the problem was. Finding enough Pipsis to sustain a group of people is nearly impossible.

While he's got a good point here I can add some additional information.

It seems that it's not just Drinking directly from Pond/Well but also using the Water Bottle and Canteen. I experienced it most notably when using the "Drink All" Function. I gained only a little hydration compared to the amount that it seemed to think it filled up my stomach.

A direct example of the hydration to fullness would be this. It seems to fill my stomach just like it should if I "Drink All" the whole canteen at once but it only provides the hydration level of one "Drink" not a hydration level of "Drink All"

In addition I should note that Natural Water Pouches crafted from Tanned Leather seem to work fine but I'd need more testing to verify for sure, but I think I get full hydration from "Drink All" with those unlike with the other containers.

Yes very poor.

I am highly energized but not hydrated.

If I drink juste a little bit I start to get stuffed.

Healthy-Status impossible like this.

Hey guys, I am not sure about this but here is mine opinion on this.
In the latest patch I saw there is introduced weight. => more you carry, you will be faster dehydrated.

I use canteens and i click allways drink all and i am fine. I carry lot of ammunition and mags + tons of food and yet i am ok ... I guess you can't just run all the map without a stop to rest ... also check if you are not hot, it will make you thirsty much faster

kyzawarrior is your character still from stable 0.53? I started to recognize this problem after a newspawn. The previous one lived since 0.53. - Perhaps I was just lucky though.

Me and my friend are both spawned after last update and everythign is ok

In my original post I also stated that waterbottles and canteens are affected by "refillible containers". That is what gave me the best clue that the bug is in the liquid system itself.

If you use water purification tables, the water works normally.

I can't confirm canteens and bottles, looks like they work fine for me, but ponds and wells are definately broken - one swig from the well, and it gets me yellow "stuffed", second swig - orange "stuffed".

I have been filling up canteens and PET bottles from wells and ponds, and only drink from those bottles, and have not noticed this. However, my character exists from before 0.54 was deployed, so maybe that is related

ît's not related.
