It should say approximatly 40 meter. It seems using ~ makes a link.

There have to be other factors that influence this. I have a character in a ghillie since a couple weeks and I run in a group, never had issues. I had several hostile people run past me or standing next to me. Maybe potato with potato settings?

Your missing the point moeb1us.

Let me put it this way. I join your server and i come across you as you have a ghillie set, i see you in the tree line and then i lost track of you.
So then i go into video settings and change the settings from high down to "potato settings" as you put it and BAAM, there you are, glowing all white in the bushes over there, easy picking...

I hope that made the point of my report more clear ;)

I guess i should have specified that on a low video setting the ghillie suit aint drawn properly and this may or even will be used as an advantage to spot an other player that have the ghillie set.

Hello S.T.T.F and thank you for the report.
Unfortunately we were unable to reproduce the issue you described. Could you please post your video settings to this ticket?(We have checked Low settings which you have mentioned in the comments and sadly had no luck)
Regards,
Geez

I think this might be related to http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=21874

Sounds like the exact same problem (screenshots included)

OP, please deliver!

Both me and my friend have a similar problem with wire fences.
They are all white and we are unable to see through them until we get close.
Might be a related problem with the Ghillie suit, wich is why im adding it here in a note instead of making new report.

We both took screenshots last night at the same time, my friend is standing behind a wire fence and sees me and screenshot.
While the fence is all white for me and i cant see him.
The fence was all white for him aswell until he got closer to take the screenshot.

The video settings im currently using is found bellow. And my friends video settings is found in the note above.
Im also adding the two screenshots that shows the problem.

Im sorry it have taken so long for me to update with the video settings, but i havent spoken with my friend for about a week or so.
We never tried with he wearing my Ghillie suit and see if he was white on my screen aswell tho.

But the settings he used when i was all white in my Ghillie suit until he got close enough to me wasnt so low after all, here is the list anyway:

Rendering Resolution: 67%
VSync: Enabled
Resolution: 1280x960x32
Video Memory: 2048 MB
Texture Detail: High
Texture Filtering: High
Antialiasing: Low
Alpha to Coverage: All trees + grass
Edge Smoothing: FXAA Normal
HDR Quality: Low
Ambient Occlusion: Disabled
Postprocess Quality: High
Bloom: about 50%
Rotation Blur: 0%
Objects: Normal
Terrain: Normal
Clouds: High
Shadows: Normal

I can confirm the wirefences LOD 'bug'.

For me (and friends I play with as well) the fence appears solid white (blue-ish white) until you zoom in on it or come up close.

Since the wirefence is already hard to see from up close, I would suggest removing the LOD version entirely or simply make it 100% transparent.

I just hope the devs can find the connection between Ghillie suit showing all white, the green shirt post you linked in your other post and this with the wirefences as they are all similar to each other.

Hello S.T.T.F.
Unfortunately we still were not able to reproduce the issue concerning ghillie items. As for the fence and sweater issues, we are aware of these and they have been scheduled for a fix.
