My buddy and I were driving around Chernarus in seperate V3S's when we suddenly got kicked from the server. After reconnecting to a different server (both servers were public hive) we got the "spawning in 30 seconds" screen and both spawned in as new spawns. We were both healthy and driving in open terrain.

This has also happened to me, i was driving the truck when I got kicked from the server when I joined a different one I became a new spawn. I joined back the previous server but still a new spawn

you remain in game for 5 minutes after you log even if not choosing to .. probably causes you to fall from the moving vehicle and thus die.

We are already aware of this (#20639). The issue here is, as valdark has stated, that the disconnecting character will disembark the vehicle, getting killed in the process if the truck is moving. We are currently looking into ways of preventing this.
