Infinite consumable items glitch
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I found this glitch in 0.50 patch by accident few days ago.

It requires a disinfectant spray and an item you want to consume (food, morphine, water bottle or canteen). Open inventory and start consuming an item, for example, you press "eat all" on rice. While the character is performing the animation you use disinfectant spray on some other (or the same) item in your inventory. After the animation is finished, rice will not disappear from your inventory and you can use it again. Same happens with morphine, bandages etc.

Steps To Reproduce
  1. Start consuming an item in your inventory
  2. During the animation spray something with disinfectant spray in your inventory
Additional Information

I think it ONLY works with disinfectant spray is because it is the only item that doesn't show "cancel current action" in context menu when you perform some other action. All other actions can not interrupt the process and will prompt you with "cancel current action" notification. But disinfectant spray can be used despite this.

Also notice that sometimes those infinitely consumed items disappear after a while in persistent servers. Not sure if it is related to persistence itself or this glitch.
