I can't stress enough how much i would appreciate a dedicated animation to "fix" this problem

sadly, adding a new animation is not possible in the foreseeable future.
Similarly, adjusting the object itself does not seem necessary to me as the platforms can be accessed via the little ramps.
There will be some tweaks to the general movement eventually, which might solve this problem - please be patient. For now however, this is considered to be working as intended.
