Are you being rolled back to a previous area you have ran through?
Do you retain the items you may have picked up before roll back?

I have also had this happen to myself.
Running from one town to another, I would find myself teleported back about a kilometre in game where I had just passed through.

Usually resolved after force closing the DayZ.exe via task manager and rejoining the game. I have seen this happen again right after restarting the application, and I was teleported straight back to the exact same location I was previously teleported back to.

I've also noticed this usually happens if my character is running between towns using keyboard macros set to hold down 'W' (forward) key.

Agreed. Suicide option using in-game item.

Does not make sense to kill myself, by holding my breath.
