I totally agree with OP.
DayZ has developed more and more into a battle royale with some NPCs instead of a survival zombie game. Sadly, it seems like that is what most players want, with all the high-loot, fast-paced servers where you basically spawn fully equipped with a stacked bank account.
The core idea from the beginning of the game or the mod is basically not recognizable anymore, and I fear it will develop more and more into an average open world shooter. No interactions, just shooting.
If thats the intention of the devs DayZ or a possible successor will never stand out and won`t be able to beat other games of the genre. It will just be/stay mediocre
