Same problem here. i logges out in a house with basement (ground floor but unaccesable)

In the upcoming patch there will be more tools to open cans, like screwdrivers or knives. I think they are working on this problem.

if you are close enough or just above them you can press tab and they should appear in the window of the left. the one it says proximity
