I have had the same experience since 1.06 release. There is a known issue about it so I was surprised to learn this and yet the update still be released.

I have experienced the same problem. I had a gun with a magazine in it, wanted to reload some ammo in to the magazine. Tried removing the magazine but it is stuck. I was able to remove the ammo from the gun by double-tapping R; an empty magazine would still not eject. I dragged the bugged magazine to a hotbar item, then put the gun away, and then selected the hotbar magazine and held G to drop it to the ground. Adding a fresh magazine does NOT fix this issue, it is like I have only loaded a single round. I tried the above process again, and then run around the map with no magazine, and simply cambering single shots. After a server restart the bugged magazine is back.
