DayZ Causing computer reboot
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hello,

Brief background on issue:
DayZ ran fine until update .45 (little over a week ago). Since then, my computer will completely shut down after a few minutes of playing (no crash dialogue, no warning, no errors, just a hard off). Sometimes I manage 30 minutes of game play, sometimes it's 30 seconds.

All other PC games run perfect (Watch Dogs, BF4, GTA, etc.).
I do not believe this is hardware related, i.e., overheating, bad PSU, what have you. Every other game runs fine, I'm monitoring my temps and they don't go above 30's for CPU and 70's for the GPU. Tried MSI afterburner to limit the amount of power directed to the GPU--throttled it down to 90%, 80%, but that didn't stop the crash. Again, no other problems with any other graphic/cpu intensive games. Therefore, probably not hardware related.

Intel Core i7 2600 @3.4 GHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM
GTX 660 (not TI)
Nothing is overclocked.

Thank you!

Further insight, I should specify that this the computer will shut down, pause for a few seconds, and then power back on of its own accord.

Please try to reproduce this issue on the latest experimental build.

When reporting a crash you need to upload a dxdiag report and the files from
C:/Users/<Name>/AppData/Local/DayZ/

Pack the files into a .rar file - if the RAR is smaller than 5000KB, you can attach it here. If it's larger, please upload it to a file sharing website and link it here.

For future reports please refer to the "How to guide"
http://feedback.dayzgame.com/how-to-user.html

Thanks

Crash is reproducible in experimental branch as well.

Hi stary_survivor,
is this still an issue?
If so, please reproduce the crash again and upload the newly generated contents of the AppData folder.
Thank you,
Andy
