I am able to put a second large gun in my inventory and keep it on me. I tried to put a mosin in my hands with an sks on my back, It wouldn't work but it disappeared after a couple seconds and it turns out it was in my inventory beneath my backpack as if I logged out with a gun in my hands and logged back in. I can carry two large guns in my inventory.
