confirmation of changes connecting failed

Description

Hello there, alright this is pretty simple and i've seen this problem stated several times on other versions of the game. So what makes me different ? Well first of all i'm currently located in a remote part of Africa far from civilization (no joke i'm like in the middle of the desert)In Senegal.

We are 2 people down here desperately trying to get connected and start the dayz experience. But, sadly we both encounter the same issue : each time we try to connect to a server we get redirected to the main server page with the following message : confirmation of changes connecting failed.

we both own pretty powerful computers running on windows 7 64 bit, we both have a 2gigabyte connection with an average ping between 80 to 250 and here are the things we attempted with no results:

Flushing DNS
Reseting Routers
Creation of safe ports
Configuration on web browser, antivirus and router's firewall
NO antivirus or firewall
Configuration of router with google and opendns dns adress
Rented a server to access the configuration of the server and see if anything is wrong

Help is required please

Can one of you please try the following?

  1. Right click DayZ in the Steam library
  2. Click properties
  3. Click "Set Launch Options"
  4. Enter "-port+1" into the field (without the quotes) and press OK

Please let me know if this fixed your issue

Hello R834, thank you so much for the swift answer to our problem.

So we both tried your solution unfortunately it didn't change anything and we still have the same issue, correct me if i am wrong but i think i read this command somewhere in the threads, Isn't it a command to allow him or me to join the other one's game ?

Still walking on this dark road in search of a light that will allow us to taste the awesomeness of this game

Hi,

Is this issue happening even when only one person tries playing?

good day R834, unfortunately it does, my friend got the alpha before me and encountered this issue from day 1, i bought the game few days after him and tried to play and encountered the same issue as he did. Since then we are looking everywhere for a solution to our problem

Well no news good news right ??? SO we kept looking into it and we came up with a theory It is highly unlikely as this is supposed to be a worldwide accessible game but could the developers check if in the setup parameters there is a restricted acls on Senegal's ip (41.xxx.xx.xx)

Hi,

Sorry for not replying sooner.

I misunderstood your issue - the original comment I made is a solution for when two people on the same network are unable to connect to the same server.

I will assign this issue to a developer to try and get this looked into.

Hey there!

Please try to enable port forwarding for the following ports in your router settings.

UDP 27016 and 27017

Also, please make sure that you are running Steam "As Administrator".

hi,
was tested both,
it does not work,
I even tested with a dlink adsl router, the parfeu cancel service and open every port, still nothing.
help ....

good day accolyte, nova33 is my friend (that i mentioned earlier that bought the game before me and resides in the same area as i do)

As he said we both tried the port forwarding and have set steam to start up in administrator. My friend meant firewall for "parefeu". he cancelled the firewall and set up his dlink router with a special rule to open all ports but even that didn't work

Hello opahk1,

If you send me your Steam ID url, then we can investigate a little bit further.

Also, would it be possible for you to attach a "tracert" report by performing a traceroute command while using the following ip address please: 69.162.83.204

In case you need information regarding how to perform the traceroute command, you can use the following url: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/162326

Regards,

JStewart

Thanks for sending in all your information! We'll have a look at it and see if we can come up with a solution.

Just to eliminate a possible culprit - can you confirm that your Steam clients are running in the background when trying to log on to game servers?

Regards,

JStewart

We had a look at your tracert report, and you might be experiencing an issue on hop 9 out of 17.

Unfortunately, we are unable to determine if it's the site that just blocks the ICMP packets or if you are experiencing a link failure. In order to determine what the problem is, I would advise you to contact your ISP and have them look at it.

Regards,

JStewart
