Default Sound Device

Description

I was watching a movie when I went to bed last night on my TV which is connecting to my PC via HDMI cable. When I woke up I logged on to DayZ. I did not switch my default windows audio playback device to my desktop speakers from the HDMI cable which was playing the movie sound through my TV. After I loaded the game, I changed my playback device to my speakers, and the sound from DayZ still came out of my TV instead of switching back to my desktop speakers like the rest of my computer does on the fly.

Hi,

will the game keep playing sounds through the TV if you restart it again after you set the default device back to speakers?

Hi there,

The answer is no. If you close the game after you change the default device, and re-open the game, it works correctly.

I was just wanting to add a note that maybe in development there can be an option in Sound settings to switch default device so players don't have to close and re-open the game in situations like mine.

Hey,

this is working as intended. The game uses the audio output that is set to default upon launching the game. There will always be certain settings that will require a restart.
