Sometimes, several items though visible and within reach are not "lootable". It doesn#t matter, where the item is located. This happened with loot on the ground, inside vehicles and on top of closets too.

Some items even don't show up in 3rd person view. There are 1st person servers out there too. And if you are standing right next to an item with nothing else in the line of sight, it should be possible to interact with it. Everything else is just a workaround. (So you cannot load your weapon? Just drop it into a pond 20 times - that should work ;) )
