Pretty sure this is a duplicate of a previous report. However to get around this for now drop your ammo and then open the box and pick it back up. Sometimes it can be frustrating doing this because of a delay with seeing dropped items though.

in response to the previous note, also beware that dropping items on uneven ground can cause them to fall "into the ground" rendering them unlootable.

I've lost many an ammo clip, weapon, spray can, etc this way.

This has been reported previously - make sure to search before opening new issues.
