Empyting an Ammo clip/box will sometimes cause other ammo to turn to zero
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

So I have to look into this more. But i've noticed on several different occasions that if i pick up a new box of ammo or clip of ammo, put it in inventory, then go to empty the bullets out of it also into my inventory, if i had previous bullets of the same kind, sometimes the amount of those bullets will change to zero (so that i can not use them, but they are still there). Now, it is not just adding the bullets for me and combining them, it seems to actually be erasing ammo.

For ex:
I have a stack of 38 5.56mm ammo, and another stack of 30 5.56mm ammo. I pick up a 40 round clip containing 40 5.56mm bullets. I put that in my inventory, then i click empty on the clip, then the 40 5.56mm bullets will appear, but for some reason say the 38 5.56mm ammo will now have 0 bullets.

Steps To Reproduce

1- have at least 1, (2+ seems to work better) stacks of ammo in your inventory (must be same ammo)
2- pick up either a box or clip of ammo
3- empty it
4- notice that for some reason one of your previous ammo stacks now reads that it has 0 ammo.

Confirmed. I get this glitch whenever I am splitting stacks or emptying mags.

Confirmed as well. Only work around that I found was to empty a clip one at a time and move it into an ammo box, although having the ammo box in hand while emptying a clip would also cause either the ammo from the clip or one of the stacks in the ammo box to go to 0. From what i can see, if any other ammo of the same type is visible in the inventory screen (including in hand) one stack will always be set to 0.

I've had this same problem, and the way around it that I've found is to drop any stacks of ammo that you're currently holding, and empty the clip / box in your inventory. Then, you can pick up the ammo that you've dropped so you will lose none. This is obviously just a work around and needs to be fixed.
