Seems to be the same issue as reported here: #7443

Whenever my backpack is not full it sometimes rearranges items in my case aswell. But that has happened with all backpacks and on all patches I've played so far (been playing since 0.30.113953 on Alpha). Item position is only saved when it's filled up.

I mentioned body re-positioning and think these are two different issues. In fact, after the most recent patch my body was no longer moving but items were gone or rearranged. The bug I've reported may have been created when they fixed the body re-positioning bug.

Sometimes it is rearranged in such a way that some items don't fit any more and therefore get deleted. (sawn off shotgun mostly in my experience)

This is still happening in .47 experimental

It really sucks because the high value items like the AK74u/MP5, take up so much room in the backpack. They're often deleted if there isn't a crazy amount of space available.

The fix is to save the locations of the items in the database as they do with the items.
I imagine there is a bit of coding to do, but this shouldn't be a high complexity issue.

And yes, it still happens in 0.50.
Try to fit the biggest items at the top left corner, then you won't lose anything.

I'm still getting this in in version 0.51 stable. It is also happening to my camp's big military tent. Amongst items disappearing after being rearranged.
