Normal behaviour is to walk when you go on top of a steep mountain.

Steps To Reproduce
assign a baseball bat or another thing which you can hold in hands to slot 1 for example
Find a steep mountain
When you literally walk on top try to press 1 and as you character will taking the weapon/item into his hands your character should run for that period

havent tried this yet but i experienced this effect while walking down a stairwell. switching weapon made me run down the stairs for the time of the animation.
