Seem like when you swim for awhile with a backpack and a rifle. It will drop while swimming, however once you walk on land for a period of time it comes back. Nothing huge, but just scared the crap out of me when I can't pick it back up.

can not confirm myself, but i've heard the exact same thing from two guys over TS,
both dropped their stuff in the same pond, couldn't access the dropped stuff, but it returned a little while later on.
