Tweak, remove or add the ability to toggle the high pitched vision mode toggle sound
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Please either tweak, remove or add the ability to toggle the high pitched vision mode toggle squealing sound.

I appreciate what it's trying to illustrate, but in the editing environment, it's unnecessary and it gets headache inducing when you are toggling between the vision modes.

It's even worse when you want to compare something in two views, and you have to listen to the 2 of those sounds overlapping eachother.

Steps To Reproduce
  1. Open 3DEN editor
  2. Keep pressing "N" until your head hurts, your hearing degrades, your pets go wild or someone in your household/work gets mad at you
Additional Information

Additionally, if you toggle the vision mode and ALT+TAB before the sound stops playing, it repeats when you ALT+TAB back in. Plus, what's incredibly ear shattering is that if you do this really quickly, then ALT+TAB, when you come back in, ALL the sounds that didn't finish playing will overlap each other and play from the start at the same time, producing an ear-piercing shriek.

This is intended behaviour and not a bug. It is implemented to prevent you getting addicted to the editor and spending too much time with it. ;-)

14 years too late for that. ;D

NVG sound removed. It made sense in Zeus, where a mission takes place in the background and other sounds are present, but I understand it was quite annoying in otherwise silent Eden Editor.

Should be gone in the next dev build update.
