Seemingly all optics reflect light even when in the players shadow. Same is true for the Sights on some (modded) choppers.
Seems to be true for moonlight, flashlights, etc and the windscreens of choppers as well.

Steps To Reproduce
use weapon with sight attached and turn until you see the reflected light, even if you move in a way that your own shadow is over the optic the reflection is still there making it impossible to properly see through the sight

It really can annoy, but it work "as it should". Try to get in building, or stand face to sun - it will be absent. Limitating this in shadow zone is impossible for this game engine.
