Dear developers and community,

I experienced a strange LOD-behaviour. If you sit on the bench on the MH-9 or on the passenger position of the armed WY-55 Hellcat and switch to the iron sights/optic (right mouse button by default), you can clearly see, that the level of detail of these choppers is obviously changing.

It seems, that the first person view of the cockpits/interiors are made from scratch and the first person vehicle models are missing some parts. If you now switch to your iron sights/optics, the vehicle model is changing to the third person model (the model, before you get in the vehicle).

You can experience the same issue with other vehicles too, but on the MH-9 and the WY-55 Hellcat it is pretty obvious.

MH-9: Just take a look at that mirror on the skids, at the cockpit or the hull and switch to the iron sights/optics and back. The mirror position is changing, the cockpit-level-of-detail is changing and some hull parts are appearing/disappearing.

WY-55 Hellcat: Take a look at the skids and switch to the iron sights/optics and back. The skids are appearing and disappering.

I attached some picture, where you can see the "issues".

I didn't tested all vehicles, but it seems, that nearly all vehicle will show those behaviours. {F26973} {F26974} {F26975} {F26976} {F26977} {F26978} {F26979} {F26980} {F26981} {F26982} {F26983} {F26984}

  1. open the editor
  2. create an emtpy MH-9 and/ WY-55 Hellcat and an armed player unit
  3. preview the mission
  4. sit on the bench on the MH-9/ passenger seat on the WY-55 Hellcat
  5. watch some parts on the choppers and switch to your iron sights/optics and back

I know the Arma series since Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis and know, that the engine has its own advantages and disadvantages.

The question is, why the engine switches the level of detail, if you press the iron sights/optics key if you sit on the bench of the chopper/use the firing-from-vehicles-positions?
