Even though their is wind efect sounds when free-falling ,once a parachute is opened,everything goes silent.I understand that the wind sounds would be quiter as you are not descending as fast,but their should still be sounds of wind in your ears,in the chute rigging etc..It just makes parachuting a bit bland.
